I, too, love this so much. My mom says I’m negative. But I’m just setting realistic expectations! Maybe what she perceives as negativity is actually what keeps me sane, grounded, and happy!

Really enjoying this. Hilarious stuff. 'First, I experimented with HIGHEST EXPECTATIONS. I moved to New York in 2010 to be a celebrity, and I named my WiFi network “Famous.”

This series is just stellar. Maybe some dog-pregnancy tips next?

I'll be honest, I love my little dogs (were 3 now 2) and kitties (were 5 now 4) very much, but I would rather not gestate anything. That said, I would rather do that than receive another rejection. I don't know how you do it. I mean, I do, because you've told us, but it seems impossible!

The Art of Not giving a Fuck - is also a great book! But you are doing that here Mademoiselle Elissa Bassista! Doing for the sake of the doing is pretty zen...It's good, it's relaxing even. Fame is actually not a natural state for us. Not out purpose anyway. Big hug and to cute little doggy too. LA

Such great writing and good writing advice too! Looking forward to more. And yes, adorable dog-son. I'm a dog-mommy too.

My favorite line: “We can’t make anyone do anything, but we can make other people feel something.” Too long for a coffee mug but not for an apron.

This is honest, real, and makes perfect sense. (The whole series has been.) I thank you for that! Why am I not special? Why isn't everything I write published? Because that's not how it works. For anyone. In places I frequently go it is said that high expectations are premeditated resentments. The only things I can control are my actions and effort. Tell your dog that he deserves all the treats and belly rubs. If I were a multi-billionaire, I would definitely not go to space.
