I'm watching Pretend it's a City this week about Fran Lebowitz and she says something like you're either born with talent or not and that's it. Which is great if you're one of those folks, but pretty discouraging if not. I've actually heard this before from artists of a certain generation. Your post was a timely breath of fresh air. Do you think that's just an "opinion"?
I would add: the best comedy comes from tragedy you have deeply experienced .... there are indeed varying degrees of funny. But the stomach pain, can't breath, tears falling kind.....oh yeah!
lol "date an actor"
I have dated upwards of 6 actors, and each one is a great essay.
my god it is the TRUTH.
(A) This piece is perfect and I’m forever obsessed w u.
(2) My book has a section about men not doing dishes. Can we still be friends?
(D) That Samantha Irby quote is 🔥
(A) The obsession is mutual.
(2) I forgive you for writing the truth. We'll always be friends.
(D) Samantha Irby always gives fire emoji!
Also dated (and married) actors. Yikes.

I do think it's just an opinion. As Amy Schumer says in an Inside Amy Schumer sketch, "Opinions are like assholes. Everyone has three."
(As an Actress) Comedy comes directly from tragedy you have deeply experienced.
Hard agree. I think I'll add that...
Thank you for mentioning/sharing about one of my favorite subjects
